Autumn 2015 – Update

2015-11-12 01.39.22 pmThis Autumn has been real fun for me. The weather has been very good and I’ve only needed to wear my rain coat a handful of times. Who could have asked for more? I have to admit I love the garden maintenance life-style! The fresh air, the smells, the wild life.

I’m learning a lot as I get the chance to do different jobs. I’ve applied quite a few meters of weed membrane, mowed a few miles of lawn, trimmed quite a few hedges and I’ve pressured washed a number of paths. Lately I’ve also had the chance to cultivate part of a lawn to prepare it for planting some vegetables in the Spring. Double digging is a back-breaking business but the results make the whole process worth it.

The course in Practical Horticulture that I’m doing at the Eden Project is fantastic. Every Saturday I come back from the course excited to put into action the skills learnt and practiced.
