This Autumn has been real fun for me. The weather has been very good and I’ve only needed to wear my rain coat a handful of times. Who could have asked for more? I have to admit I love the garden maintenance life-style! The fresh air, the smells, the wild life.
Also, I’ve done jobs for some amazing customers! I’ve been working in Bodmin, Wadebridge, on the Bodmin Moors, and I’ve even ventured as far as Padstow!
I’m learning a lot as I get the chance to do different jobs. I’ve applied quite a few meters of weed membrane, mowed a few miles of lawn, trimmed quite a few hedges and I’ve pressured washed a number of paths. Lately I’ve also had the chance to cultivate part of a lawn to prepare it for planting some vegetables in the Spring. Double digging is a back-breaking business but the results make the whole process worth it.
The course in Practical Horticulture that I’m doing at the Eden Project is fantastic. Every Saturday I come back from the course excited to put into action the skills learnt and practiced.
